These rules are under revision as of February 2nd, 2010. New rules will be posted as soon as possible.
RANGE RULES; READ & FOLLOW.
1. When a Range Officer is present, He or She is in charge. The Range Officer's Word is law. Any disputes will be brought to the attention of the Board of Directors (BOD) and the Range Operations Committee. Any person failing to abide by the Range Officer's directions is subject to disciplinary action by the BOD.
2. Hearing and Eye protection is required by all persons on the range.
3. All FIREARMS will remain in gun box/case or on bench with slide or cylinder or bolt open with all ammunition and magazines removed (SAFE CONDITION) and a yellow chamber safety flag installed when people are down range or when firearm is not in use. GUNS or Ammo will NOT be touched for any reason and all personnel not down range will stand behind the RED LINE until the line is ready to go hot.
4. Make sure the
range is clear, GUNS on bench are open, empty, on safe, have a yellow flag
displayed, and the RED STROBE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING
BEFORE GOING DOWN RANGE (Cold Range).
5. Only the ammunition for the firearm being used is allowed to be open on the line.
6. Any FIREARM not functioning properly will be removed from the firing line until repairs are made. Firearms will be made SAFE and UNLOADED before leaving the firing line. If in doubt, call the Range Officer.
7. RAPID FIRE, more than one shot per 2 seconds is not allowed without prior approval of the Range Officer. All shots must be aimed.
8. WORKING OUT OF HOLSTER is not allowed on the firing line. Working out of holster is allowed if range conditions permit down range shooting.
9. No open carry is allowed on this range except for organized matches. Concealed carry is permitted.
10. Children under 18 must be under the direct control of a NON-SHOOTING adult.
11. PAPER TARGETS ONLY. No bottles, cans, etc. Targets are to be posted on club supplied backboards.
12. Anyone doing willful damage to Club property or disregard of Range Rules will result in expulsion from the range.
13. If you are unsure of your Sight settings, request help from the Range Officer.
14. NO alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed or consumed on the range. Any one who appears to be under the influence will not be allowed to shoot.
15. Organized Matches and scheduled practices may have special nonstandard rules and targets that are approved by the Range Safety Committee and the BOD. As a result, the above rules may be superseded by the match rules only at these approved matches or practices. These matches will have a Range Safety Officer who will be in charge of all areas used in the match just as a Range Officer in rule 1.
